    The Friends of Maristanis Club is expanding! Twenty seven extra companies working in tourism and catering decided to join the network and start controlling their water consumption as well as finding ways for water saving to protect and enhance the Oristano wetlands area. 51 members e companies in total, including accommodation facilities (hotels, B&B, short let, home holidays...), restaurants, bars, tourist associations and more.

    “I started off in 2015. By that time I had been jobless for three years. For eighteen years I was a swimming coach in the municipal pool of Oristano. The refurbishment works kept it closed for five years. My house had a lot of space, and I needed to find a job that put me in contact with people. With the help of my daughter Francesca I started the beautiful adventure in the Terre del Sinis B&B". Rita Circu tells her story sitting in front of the "honeysuckle" room, dedicated like the others to the vegetation that populates her beloved Sinis. Around her the garden dotted with peasant monuments, the ancient grinding wheel for wheat, the pitcher, the drinking trough for animals that has become a flower pot

    “Carola was five years old in 2014. She was falling asleep while Luigi and I were discussing the right name for the guesthouse, our new adventure. I have a passion for the towers that dot the coasts of Sardinia, so we were looking for inspiration starting from one of their names. Carola said: mom, the most beautiful tower is Torremana ... meaning “Torre Manna” in Sardinian language, or Torregrande in Italian, the big Spanish construction that announces the marina of Cabras. Only later we discovered that Torremana is also a South American surname".

    A club that gathers all the economic actors facing the "water lands" of Oristano in a common path of continuous improvement of environmental sustainability. "Friends of Maristanis" is born, the private facet of the project focused on the protection and sustainable development of the wetlands surrounding the natural heritage of the six Ramsar sites of the Gulf of Oristano.
